Tata Motors Launches 2026 Tiago and Tiago EV in India: Prices Start at Rs 4.69 Lakh
Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Tiago and Tiago EV in the Indian market, bringing a fresh design, upgraded interiors, and a significantly enhanced feature list to one of the country’s most popular hatchbacks. The updated Tiago range starts at an introductory price of Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tiago EV begins at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Interestingly, Tata is also offering the Tiago EV under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program at an effective starting price of Rs 4.69 lakh, with battery usage charged at Rs 2.6 per kilometre. Meanwhile, the iCNG variant has been priced from Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
With this facelift, Tata Motors aims to strengthen the Tiago’s position against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS in the competitive hatchback segment.
Fresh Exterior Styling for 2026 Tiago
The 2026 Tata Tiago gets a noticeable design overhaul that gives the hatchback a more modern and sharper appearance. At the front, the car now features redesigned LED headlamps integrated with eyebrow-style daytime running lights (DRLs). A sleek black panel running across the nose further enhances the premium appeal, while the revised bumper adds to the sporty look.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, retaining the familiar silhouette and pull-type door handles. However, Tata has introduced a fresh alloy wheel design to give the hatchback a more contemporary touch.
At the rear, the Tiago now sports updated LED taillamps with a vertical line signature. The rear styling also appears cleaner and wider thanks to connected-look taillights and centrally positioned Tata branding. Other highlights include a rear wiper, updated bumper with vertical reflectors, and the “Tiago” badge on the tailgate.
The Tiago EV closely mirrors the design of its petrol counterpart but gets EV-specific styling touches. The black front panel is replaced with a body-coloured panel, while the alloy wheels feature a more aerodynamic design. Unique EV badging also helps distinguish the electric version.

Tata Motors has introduced several new colour options for the 2026 Tiago facelift, including:
- Varanasi Vibrance
- Sobo Surge
- Pangong Pulse

- Pure Grey
- Daytona Grey

One of the key highlights is the new floating 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Tata has also added a standalone digital driver display for a more premium experience. The updated two-spoke steering wheel now comes with an illuminated Tata logo, similar to newer Tata models.
The climate control panel retains its rotary knobs and toggle-style switches, although the “TIAGO” branding has now been repositioned lower on the dashboard for a cleaner look.
Feature List Expanded Significantly
The 2026 Tata Tiago now packs several segment-leading features. Some of the key additions include:
- Dual wireless phone charger
- 360-degree camera
- Blind-spot monitor
- Rear AC vents
- Cruise control
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Auto headlamps
- Paddle shifters with AMT gearbox
On the safety front, Tata continues to focus heavily on occupant protection. The hatchback now comes with six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, and an improved chassis setup. Tata claims the Tiago maintains its four-star GNCAP safety credentials.
The Tiago EV additionally gets features such as auto demist and high-beam assist.
Engine and Transmission Options
Mechanically, the 2026 Tata Tiago continues with the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque.
The CNG variant develops 75 hp and 96 Nm of torque and uses Tata’s dual-cylinder technology, which helps free up additional boot space.
Both petrol and CNG versions are available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. Notably, Tata claims this is the first CNG hatchback in the segment to offer an AMT transmission.
Tata Tiago EV: Battery and Range Details
The Tiago EV continues to be offered with two battery pack choices — 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh.
Tata claims the EV delivers a practical driving range of around 205 km to 215 km, while the MIDC-certified range goes up to 285 km on a single charge.
The company also says the Tiago EV can gain up to 100 km of range in just 18 minutes using fast charging.
Charging options include:
- 3.3 kW portable charger
- 7.2 kW home charger
- 30 kW DC fast charger
With updated styling, improved features, and a wider range of powertrain choices, the 2026 Tata Tiago lineup appears well-positioned to attract both first-time buyers and urban commuters looking for an affordable yet feature-rich hatchback.
